Calendula
Calendula has bactericidal properties against some infections including staphylococcus and streptococcus. Calendula is used for preparing tinctures and ointments. It is recommended to treat heart, liver and biliary tracts diseases, peptic ulcer, gastritis, hypertension and climacterical problems.
Calendula is used in food industry as a dye and flavorant for cheese and butter. It can be added as a spice for soup, salads and stew dishes.
Calendula is really helpful if you have greasy, pored skin or irritated skin. You can make a lotion: calendula alcoholic tincture 2 table spoons for a glass of boiled water, clean your face twice a day. You can also use calendula water tincture to prepare a mask for greasy skin: take some raw oat flakes, grind them, add some calendula tincture to get gruel and apply to face avoiding under eyes area. Leave the mask for 20-30 minutes, then wash away with warm and cold water.
