More coarse-grained files are good for hard nails, for thin and soft ones there are files made of flint-paper. You shouldn't cut the cuticle off every time you manicure your nails as it will grow much harder. You can also take a cuticle oil pen for everyday use to soften and nourish cuticle. Agnails are removed with special tweezers. The tweezers have triangular tips and beveled edges that provide perpendicular adjoining to the skin. The tweezers carefully bite the agnails off in contrast to manicure scissors that just draw them off. Varnish remover shouldn't contain acetone as it dries nail plate and makes it fragile. Today varnish removers are based on various esters, alcohols and other chemical compounds which are more careful to the nails but anyway they deoil nails. That's why varnish removers also contain wax and fatty additives. Varnish removers are used not only for removing old polish but for deoiling nails before covering them with a new polish.
